Introduction
The 8th International Conference on Flow Processes in Composite Materials (FPCM-8) will be held from 11 to 13 July, 2006, in Douai, France

This conference is the eighth in a series devoted to manufacturing of polymer matrix composites. Each conference has attracted high quality papers and provided a forum for discussion amongst academics and industrialists. The previous meetings were held at:

  • Brunel University, UK (1988)
  • University of Limerick, Ireland (1991)
  • University of Galway, UK (1994)
  • University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK (1996)
  • University of Plymouth, UK (1999)
  • University of Auckland, New Zealand (2001)
  • University of Delaware, USA (2004)

Europe is in the forefront of these developments, and with the FPCM back in Europe, and hosted by the Ecole des Mines de Douai, France, it is the aim of the conference to promote and endorse manufacturing and processing of polymer matrix composites to the international community.

Scope of the Conference
The FPCM8 accepts papers, which make an original contribution to the field of science and engineering of flow processes in composite materials and related topics. The non-exclusive list of conference topics includes:
  • Materials and Innovative Manufacturing Processes
  • Processing of Nanocomposites
  • Liquid Molding Processes
  • Sensing and Control of Flow
  • Design and Optimization of Molds, Machineries and Processes
  • Thermoplastic Composite Processing
  • Material Characterization
  • Biodegradable and Green Processing
  • Process Modeling and Simulations
  • Experimental Investigation and Flow Visualization
  • Short Fiber Composites Processing
  • Long Fiber Composites Processing
  • Flow in Multifunctional Composites
  • Effect of Processing on Properties and Durability of Composites
  • Flow in Joining/adhesion and Material Removal
