In the context of the MATS347 examination (and to some extent appropriate elsewhere?).
Click this link for the MATS347 past examination papers folder (AY2025-26)
- The key to exam success is revision: revisit the Powerpoint and Panopto files,
then read the associated webpages linked from the moodle teaching schedule.
- Now practice questions from previous years' exam papers,
then compare your answer to the solution.
Do NOT go to solutions before attempting the question.
- Some answers, e.g. chemistry, are definitive.
Other solutions may be just one of multiple correct answers for the question.
- Read and understand the question.
Do not brain dump what you know about one keyword in the question.
- Start the requested number of questions.
The first ten marks should be relatively easy and get you a bare pass,
the second ten marks set the degree boundary,
the final five marks are for high-flyers!
- Do not hope to get 50% with two perfect answers as that rarely happens,
and especially to get 40% with two 80% mark questions!
- If in doubt write it down.
No negative marks for wrong answers.
NO marks for blank paper!
- Half the questions this time are recycled from earlier years.
The rest were written from scratch!
- Solutions for past papers are on the mooDLE page linked above.
